SO, WHAT IS SMOKING?

We all have seen many people around us holding them tiny little paper-wrapped causes of death. Yes! They’re called cigarettes.

A true definition of cigarettes goes like: A cigarette is a narrow cylinder containing psychoactive material, typically tobacco, that is rolled into thin paper for smoking.

But let’s face it, cigarettes aren’t this simple.

Let’s have an in-depth talk about smoking and what it does to a smoker.

 Let’s start with the:

Brain:

Smokers are more likely to have strokes. Smoking increases the risk of strokes by at least 50%, which can cause brain damage and even death.

Smoking can increase your chances of developing a brain aneurysm. This is a bulge in a blood vessel caused by a weakness in the blood vessel wall.

This can rupture or burst which will lead to an extremely serious condition known as a subarachnoid haemorrhage. This is just another type of stroke and an invitation to serious illness leading to death.

But, don’t worry there is a solution to everything if you stop smoking for 2 years your risk of stroke is reduced to half and if you don’t smoke for five years it will be the same as a non-smoker.

Vaping has no such health harms and it is also a perfect alternative to smoking. It really can save you from these life-threatening situations.

Heart:

Here’s a list of heart issues caused by smoking:

·       Coronary Heart Disease

·       Heart Attack

·       Stroke

·       Peripheral Vascular Disease (damaged blood vessels)

·       Cerebrovascular Disease (damaged arteries that supply blood to your brain).

Our heart works faster than usual when carbon monoxide from the smoke and nicotine both put a strain on it. They also increase the risk of blood clots. Other chemicals in cigarette smoke damage the lining of your coronary arteries, leading to furring of the arteries.

The risk of dying from a heart attack and other heart-related issues is doubled for a smoker than of a non-smoker.

It takes just a year of not smoking for you to minus that risk to half. And 15 years to completely kill the roots, after these 15 years you’re just as good as new.

We know how hard it is to even think about never touching a cigarette again. This is why we have vaping now, for this one year and coming 15 years vaping will be there for you to get a better way of living.

Lungs:

Let’s count the damage that is done by smoking on our lungs.

·       Coughs

·       Colds

·       Wheezing

·       Asthma

wait, there’s more.

·       Pneumonia

·       Emphysema

·       Lung cancer.

·       Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

COPD is the name for a collection of lung diseases including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. People with COPD have difficulties breathing, primarily due to the narrowing of their airways and destruction of lung tissue.

Typical symptoms of COPD include increasing breathlessness when active, a persistent cough with phlegm and frequent chest infections.

These issues are all that can be sorted but all of them require an instant stop to smoking, for that instant stop you need a replacement and this is the main reason why vaping got life. The main goal behind vaping is to give you, your life back.

Stomach:

Now it’s time to have a look at our stomach because yes! We don’t eat cigarettes but read on, you’ll know how just inhaling the smoke damages you completely.

Smokers have an increased chance of getting stomach cancer or ulcers. Smoking affects the muscle that controls the lower end of your oesophagus.

It makes that muscle weak which allows the acid from the stomach to travel in the wrong direction which is going back up to your oesophagus, this process is known as reflux.

Smoking also significantly increases the risk of developing kidney cancer, and the more you smoke the greater the risk.

Mouth and throat:

Problems caused are:

·       Bad Breath

·       Stained Teeth

·       Gum Disease

·       Damaged Your Sense of Taste

·       Oral Thrush.

·       Cancer In your Lips

·       Cancer in Your Tongue

·       Cancer in Your Throat

·       Cancer in Your Voice-Box

·       Cancer in Your Oesophagus

More than 93% of oropharyngeal cancers (cancer in the part of throat) are caused by smoking.

Once you've been smoke-free for 20 years, your risk of head and neck cancer is reduced to that of a non-smoker. 20 years is not a short period if you as a smoker he/she can not even imagine not smoking for even a day.

But we have a solution to this and that is vaping because nothing except vaping can help you with quitting smoking and choosing a safer lifestyle.

Skin and bones:

Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to your skin which causes your skin ages to more quickly and it looks grey and dull. The toxins in your body from the smoke you inhale also cause cellulite

Smoking also causes your bones to become weak and stiff. Women need to be especially careful as they are more likely to suffer from breakable bones (osteoporosis) than non-smokers.

Everything discussed above is serious enough but this last damage is not just yours, it also harms another being who suffers with you.

Reproduction and fertility:

Smoking can cause male impotence because it damages the blood vessels that supply blood to the penis. It can also reduce sperm count and cause testicular cancer.

Up to 120,000 men from the UK in their 20s and 30s are impotent as a direct result of smoking.

For women, smoking can reduce fertility. It can also increase your risk of cervical cancer. People who smoke are less able to get rid of the HPV infection from the body, which can develop into cancer.

Smoking while you are pregnant can lead to miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth and illness, and it increases the risk of cot death by at least 25%.

 Conclusion:

Smoking does nothing good to your body, just a temporary relaxation and the rest is serious torture to your body. Smoking doesn’t affect just one part of your body in fact, it makes every part of your body to suffer until death.

Smoking will never help you with anything instead it’ll just take years of your life from you. Vaping started with this thought that smoking harms the body so much that we need an alternative to it now.

Vaping has been keeping its words from the start, from day one to now it has been proven to be not as much harm to the body. It has helped millions of people to quit smoking and is continuing to do so.

Vaping is without a doubt a safer alternative to smoking, it’s good to understand this fact as soon as possible or else it will be too late. A simple switch to e-cigarettes will save a life!
